Hello everyone, and welcome to a new year of Sam Carbaugh’s journal comics. I’ve been away from the net for a while, and did create comics, but didn’t ink or scan them, so they are monstrous things for me to deal with at the moment.
Many things have been going on in my life, the most significant has been the first three weeks of being full Vegan. 2011 is my veggie year. I’ll be doing semi-regular posts on how it’s going and wonderful recipes I find along the way. I’m in the midst of crafting a first post on it that’ll say how its been going thus far and why I am doing it.
Check back daily for new work, hold me to task!
Oh, and I have been toying with the idea of beginning a full graphic novel/journal comic about my struggles with Christianity through my life and how emergent thinking has begun to reform my understandings. We’ll see. It could be difficult for me to do, especially since it’ll open me up to criticism and be more honest that I have been in a while with a bunch of different people. A friend, and former advisor, Patrick Miller once told me that I needed to pick somewhere to stand when it came to my opinions and life (I often see all sides of a problem naturally and have a hard time committing to something that will be a knee-jerk “us versus them” model). I’m probably not going to take a stand, but I’ll use another image that’s more fitting with my running and snowshoeing lifestyle: I’ll pick a direction and start moving.
We’ll see what comes of this year, any thing can happen. Thanks for reading and being patient with me.
